Grand Rounds Examination

An examination panel will conduct a comprehensive review of your submitted cases for quality and thoroughness of the documentation, appropriateness of treatment, clinical judgment, and treatment outcome, using our Certification Evaluation Form.

After reviewing your fully-documented cases, the examination panel will select two or three of them for the Grand Rounds examination— an oral case discussion lasting about an hour. We’ll let you know which cases have been selected and will work with you to schedule your examination.

The Grand Rounds examination will provide you with the opportunity to demonstrate to peers your ability to evaluate a patient’s condition, develop a treatment plan, and carry it through to fruition. This interview is designed to acquaint the examiner with your thought process and your ability to intellectually portray your understanding of chosen criteria and outcomes. The examiner will discuss your criteria for the procedure and the outcome, as well as the analysis that went into your decision for treatment.
